Babe Ruth’s jersey, cap bring record prices

Babe Ruth is still the king in sports memorabilia, if not in baseball’s record books. Two items of clothing worn by the New York Yankees’ slugger brought record prices at auction over the weekend.
The earliest known Yankees jersey worn by Ruth, circa 1920, brought more than $4.42 million, according to SPC Auctions. That tops the $4.34 million paid for James Naismith’s 1891 typed list of the rules of basketball in 2010.
