Reggie Jackson, Rollie Fingers put memorabilia up for auction

Within the span of 24 hours, news broke that Hall of Famers Reggie Jackson and Rollie Fingers are putting some pretty outstanding baseball memorabilia up for auction.

We’ll start with Mr. October, via NYPost.com.

Jackson will sell the jersey he wore when he hit three homers in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series via SCP Auctions. The auction will run online April 10-26, and the proceeds will reportedly benefit donations to the Jackson family and the Mr. October Foundation for kids.

Fingers will also put some personal gear up for auction on SCP Auctions, but he’s put a lot more up for bid (via jsonline.com). In fact, the Rollie Fingers’ collection page on SCP’s site shows 65 items.

The heavy hitters:

1973 World Series championship ring
1974 World Series MVP plaque
1977, 1978, 1980, 1981 Rolaids Relief Man awards
1981 AL Cy Young award
1981 AL MVP award
And tons more. Fans of sports memorabilia should really check out the SCP Auctions site. Right now they have collections pages for John Havlicek, Steve Garvey, Bret Saberhagen, Chris Mullin, George Sisler and others.
