Here’s your chance to buy Babe Ruth’s pocket watch

The sports memorabilia house SCP Auctions is auctioning off a pair of incredible — and heartbreaking — artifacts from two of the best baseball players who ever lived.
At the 25th anniversary celebration of Yankee Stadium — “the House that Ruth Built” — in June of 1948, the Yankees gave Babe Ruth a gold pocket watch. The frail former slugger wore his old uniform, but needed to borrow a bat from Bob Feller to keep himself upright in what would be his last appearance at Yankee Stadium. He died from throat cancer two months later.
