The 2011 World Series was one for the record books as the St. Louis Cardinals, down to their last strike, battled back to defeat the Texas Rangers in an epic seven-game series and earn their 11th Championship. The Cardinals issued four ring versions with two different design/looks and varying precious metal material. Players and top executives received an “A” version made of 14-karat yellow and white gold with 103 round-cut diamonds. This one was presented to relief pitcher Eduardo Sanchez, who recorded a 1.80 ERA in 26 appearances in 2011.
The face of the ring features a ruby-filled Redbird logo in a diamond field with “WORLD CHAMPIONS” surrounding it. All of the franchise’s 11 championship seasons are listed around the base of each shank. The right shank reads: “2011 ST. LOUIS CARDINALS 11 [Rubies] WORLD SERIES TITLES” against the backdrop of the new Busch Stadium, which was christened with a World Series victory in its inaugural 2011 season. The left shank has “SANCHEZ” with the “STL” logo in rubies. Division, Championship and World Series games totals are engraved inside along with “Happy Flight.” Also stamped inside is the maker “Jostens” and “14K”. The ring has light wear.
The ring comes with its original mahogany-colored presentation box, also made by Jostens. Etched on the outer glass is “St. Louis Cardinals 2011 World Champions.” The box comes in nearly Mint condition with little to no wear.
