Jesse Owens’ gold medal from the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin is one of many historic sports items to be auctioned off later this month. In addition, a fight-worn robe used by Muhammad Ali will also be for sale. Ali wore the robe prior to his 1976 heavyweight title bout with Jimmy Young. The auction house expects the robe, which is said to be in “wonderful condition” though showing “appropriate wear”, to sell for somewhere around $50,000.
